How can I contact you to make a donation?

How does contributing to Can Do Canines benefit me?

In addition to having the satisfaction of making a positive impact on someone’s life, you also receive tangible tax benefits from your donation*. Charitable gifts are deductible to the full extent of the law, depending on whether you itemize and how you set up your donation. Is Can Do Canines a 501(c)(3)?

Yes, we are a nonprofit organization that receives charitable gifts to support its programs and services. These gifts are deductible by you, the donor, as allowed by law. Our federal tax I.D. number is 41-1594165

How efficiently will you use the funds I contribute?

Our average cost to develop a single client/dog team in 2009 was $28,000. While this is a lot of money, we’re very efficient in the use of your funds compared with other organizations providing similar services. In fact, training a guide dog for a person who is blind costs $100,000 at the largest school in the United States.

According to Can Do Canines’ 2009 independent financial audit, 82% of our contributed funds are spent on program-related benefits, while only 18% goes to administrative and fundraising costs. Whom do you serve?

Can Do Canines serves people with many kinds of disability. By helping restore their independence, freedom and peace of mind, our work impacts their families and communities. We also serve the cause of animal welfare by adopting and training—whenever possible—homeless dogs from local animal shelters.

Will my name be sold if I donate?

No. At this time, we do not exchange names and addresses of our donors with any other organizations.
