How You Help
Can Do Canines is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities by creating mutually beneficial partnerships with specially trained dogs. In general, these animals are referred to as assistance dogs.
Our assistance dogs deliver personal dignity through the gifts of independence, freedom and peace of mind. Pairing our trained dogs with people with disabilities benefits our clients as well as their families, employers and communities. Whenever possible, we adopt dogs from local animal shelters to train for our programs.
We do all of this at no charge to our clients.
Since we started, more than 350 of our clients have received assistance dogs. We absolutely depend on our generous donors, our incredible volunteers and our supportive business and community partners to make this possible.
Could you or someone you know benefit from an assistance dog? Would you like to know more? We serve people in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and parts of Illinois. Explore our site and let us know how we can help you.
