If being a puppy raiser isn’t for you, but you love dogs and would still like a ‘puppy fix’ you might want to consider becoming a Foster Home Provider.
Long term Fosters are volunteers who care for a dog in training for 1-6 months. These dogs are usually 1 year or older and may have been trained in a prison program or with a Puppy Raiser. As long-term fosters, you attend puppy program classes or outings at least twice a month, and take the dog in public at least three times a week. Long term fosters are not financially responsible for the dog’s care. Foster homes are extremely valuable as they give other volunteers a puppy break when needed and help us give the dogs in training a variety of experiences.
